My History

My career history prior to setting up Arlanda Consulting includes initial experience in production management in the Life Science sector before I moved into Executive Search.

Over my time in Search, working for life science boutiques and a large international company, I progressed from a consultant role through to Partner.

In 2017 I moved to Indonesia, set up Arlanda Consulting and continued to work with key clients in the sector.

Our
Strengths

Working across regions

Assignments have often had a truly international flavour; involving identifying candidates from a range of geographies for individual assignments, often with stakeholders based in multiple locations.

I have operated searches across Europe, UK, and USA, and in recent years I have partnered with another search company for assignments in China. In my previous role I worked with colleagues to deliver international assignments across Europe, AP, ME, and USA.

A wide range of expertise

I assist my clients with senior level executive and technical appointments across Pharma, Biotech, Med Tech, Consumer Health and related service providers to the sector. My expertise is wide and includes many successful assignments across General Management, Commercial Operations, Development, Regulatory, Quality and Supply Chain.

During my career I have worked for clients ranging from large multi-national companies at one end to starts-ups at the other. For a number of USA based companies I have assisted with setting up their first operations in Europe: recruiting the initial management, scientific and commercial team members.

In addition, I have helped build entire Technical teams for clients. I have particular expertise in working within the CDMO sector, identifying key talent able to operate in highly commercial and customer service based environments.

The personal touch

I am now in the position to be able to manage a smaller number of assignments. I can devote much greater time to each than was possible whilst working for a large search firm. I can offer a hands-on and very personal touch to all assignments without the pressure to achieve financial targets. I am also in the position to operate with a much smaller off-limits list of companies; an important consideration when managing assignments for very specific roles.

The Process - Delivering the assignment

The aim of the assignment is to present to my clients a shortlist of ideally matched, well briefed and enthused candidates. Key to the success of the search process is taking an in-depth briefing from all key stakeholders and developing a brief that captures and defines the role and candidate specification. Communication is important and I am happy to report as often as required. Assignment updates, candidate reports and other documents can be designed to meet the client’s specific requirements; as I no longer have to comply with a ‘house style’. Raising awareness of potential issues is very important during any assignments and I ensure that we can work together to head off any issues. I have no interest in simply presenting the first candidates that are interested in the position, I always work with my Researchers to present the best candidates. I am highly focused on achieving the best outcome and timely completion of each assignment. Confidentiality is often very important and I am well versed in managing highly confidential assignments for clients.

Fees and Timescales

I no longer have large overheads to support – offices in London, big marketing budget, back office staff, etc. This allows me to be flexible with regards to fee arrangements, both in terms of costing and structure. I charge a flat fee for any travel and do not add any ‘admin fees’ or similar to the cost of any assignment. Timescales are based on many factors but are typically six-eight weeks, however I will not compromise on quality or depth of the search, agreeing a realistic timescale for each assignment. I will present a document outlining projected timescales at the start of every assignment so we can review progress throughout the process.

Due to personal involvement with Epilepsy I will work at my minimum fee on any assignment relating to this condition.
